Children need no help to disobey. It’s in their nature, both because they are learning and because they test boundaries. You want to set them up for success.

Sometimes, however, we put up stumbling blocks without thinking, and our kids trip over them. We tie their shoelaces together and then bid them to walk. They would not have disobeyed without that extra push.

This is part of what Jesus meant when he said,

Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
